The U16 girls showcased a dazzling performance as they took charge against UWA Nedlands in both defensive and offensive fronts during their debut home game at Baldivis Reserve.

With the Divas out of action this week, Maisie Hughes and Molly Jones stepped up for the U16’s, seizing the opportunity on a perfect day for football.

Hughes set the tone with a breathtaking display, breaking through the defense with a powerful run down the wing to score the first of her four goals. Her remarkable talent was on full display as she continued her fine run of form.

The defensive lineup, including Kayla, Holly, Evelin, Jade, and the reliable Violet in goal, under the leadership of Captain Mikayla, held firm against UWA Nedlands’ attacks, consistently regaining possession.

In midfield, Mia, Nisha, Maya, Amber, Charlotte, and the hardworking Maddie tirelessly created chances while fending off counterattacks. Maddie’s two sensational goals left even the most skilled keepers struggling to make a save, the first of which would have to be a goal of the season contender.

Meanwhile, Olivia, Leah, and Molly each completed hat tricks with exceptional skill, overwhelming an undermanned UWA Nedlands with their impeccable teamwork. Olivia’s impressive sprint from box to box, evading six defenders before scoring, had the crowd erupting with excitement.

The match was a testament to the team’s hard work ethic, exceptional skill, unity, and mutual support for each other’s success.

In a tightly contested MVP race, Maisie, Maya, and Olivia emerged as joint winners.

Final Score: BDFC 16 – 0 UWA Nedlands

MVPs: Maya, Maisie, Olivia.
