G’day Champions
What a season.
When I think of overcoming adversity. Nothing defines it more than this season. What this club and particularly this team endured throughout this season would have made lesser people fold.
This season is a testament, a testament to the strength, resilience and determination this team has. You were a powerhouse of this league this season. Finishing second was no easy feat.
From the fear inducing pace of Martina, the sheer determination of Georgie, the Wisdom of Annie and Madi to technical ability of Dani and Maisie and everyone in between. I especially enjoyed watching the progress all of your made, especially Sarah and Woodsy.
Success for this club will come, we just have to look at the juniors coming through to see the enormous potential this club has, and it will turn around very quickly.
This group is the foundation. This foundation can drive a club forward, The Divas of old whilst skillful lacked a love for the club. This group can change that because the club is almost a blank canvass, it is what you make it.
I implore you Divas, own it, nurture it, and grow it.
I step down as your coach for this season not to suit my ego, not to win titles at other clubs by pulling favourites away, but to support the clubs growth going forward and help develop our club to become one of the premier female clubs in the land.
Finally I would like to close out by saying thank you once again to the players, each and every one of you
for your time, commitment and putting up with my puzzling position choices, I promise you there was a good reason.
I would also like to thank the club and its volunteers without you the club doesn’t function.
Cheers champions!
