After a short break the next award to be presented was the Players Player award.

Every year the players vote for a player that they have depended on throughout the season, this player could be someone who they feel unites the team and someone who embodies the spirit of the Divas. The players player was won by Georgie Gwinnutt who joined the team early in season 2024 and played several pivotal roles in the team when needed.

The most improved is a new award presented to a player that has showed the most progression through out this season.

This year was tough with several players rising throughout the season. Most notably Sarah Ballard, Jacinta Quaid and eventual winner Grace Woods.

Woodsy as Grace is affectionately known as by the team player came to us a little after the season kicked off. Nervous and unsure at first it didn’t take her long to find her niche in the team. She willingly has put her body on the line time and time again saving our skins in important periods of the game. One of the hardest positions in football and this player willing not only stepped into the role but made it her own.

The next award is the coveted coaches award and this seasons winner was thoroughly deserving. “throughout this year I have lent on this player for advice, focus and support to get through the rough patches.” Aaron Oubid said in when presenting this award. “

Hard working, fiercely competitive, and relentless. This player quickly established herself as a favourite amongst the junior and senior players.

She has contributed so much of her time into this club and is truly deserving of this award

Where she shone brightest was as a mentor to the u8’s all of which idolised her this season” he added.

That meant that none other than Orla McConnon took away the coaches award.

Finally was the coveted 2024 MVP award which was won in a tight finish by superstar Georgie Gwinnutt who took the award from u18 MVP Maisie Hughes by a solitary point.

It was Maisie that skipped away early hotly chased by 7th place finisher Martina Conway-Mortimer and Gwinnutt. Round five saw Gwinnutt Hit the front and she was almost displaced by Conway-Mortimer whom was ruled out for the season after round 8.

Gwinnutt then took hold of the count polling her fifth Best on Ground by round 13, before Hughes had a run coming within one vote by round 15. But Gwinnutt’s consistency paid off polling three more votes from rounds 16 through 19 for a total of 20 votes. A four goal Best On Ground to Hughes in the last round was not enough to reel in the 2024 MVP Georgie Gwinnutt.
